    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very enjoyable placement, I really enjoyed it.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Vast majority of colleagues valued my time and helped me out with anything I struggled with. Just a few one off occasions where individuals could have valued my time more, but nothing to taint the overall experience.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Regular meetings with managers helped us keep in touch about my workload. They were always more than happy for me to take on development opportunities and were always looking for more challenging work for me to take on.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied, but on the whole I was never over-worked.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I gained responsibility throughout the year.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The variety of work I did and the amount of training courses I went on has given me skills I couldn't have got at uni.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Social lunches most days and coffee breaks to catch up with colleagues helped break up the working day.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My role had been filled by a placement student every year, so it was clearly defined and well thought out. I had a month handover period to help with the transition.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Plenty of training courses, seminars and talks to attend. I also went on a secondment to a different office to get wider experience.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to go back, but there's no guarantee of a job after placement.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Around 20 placement students a year. Great to have friends outside of your own office to socialise with.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living in London is bound to be expensive, but happy hours in certain bars kept socialising relatively cheap.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Plenty of bars to chose from, most of which have happy hours 5-8pm.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Volunteering opportunities, sports clubs, wine tasting nights and team away days.

    5/5
