    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement year has given me a great insight into the 'real world'. The work was always extremely interesting and I was part of a fantastic team. I was given a huge amount of responsibility and was always encouraged to take part in new exciting projects. It was also great to work in such a well known and respected organisation in the heart of London. I could not have had a better placement year!

  • I spent my placement year with a wonderful team. We spent a lot of time together in and out of the office and have become very close. They were always very supportive and ensured that I get as much out of my placement as possible.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is a good amount of placement students each year and plenty of opportunities to socialise. There were also many social events with my team.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As the placement is in the heart of London, living and socialising is more expensive that in other parts of the country. However, this should be expected when applying for a placment in London anyway. The Bank also reflects the higher costs of living in their benefits package. Working and living in central London for a year has been an incredible experience.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Fantastic is all I can say!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are countless opportunities in London and everything is easily reachable from the Bank of England.
