    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I learnt an incredible amount, and met some brilliant people. The work I did was challenging and rewarding.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was a key member of the team and my tasks had a direct impact on the department. After just a few months I was seen as the go-to person for a few tasks.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager encouraged me to get involved in extra projects, and pushed me to achieve the most out of internship.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was able to complete my tasks and still have time to deliver on side projects. At times I would start early and finish late, but equally I was able to leave early during the quieter times.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was often dealing with sensitive information, and relied upon to deliver work to a high standard.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel like I have hit the ground running in my final year of university, as my internship has helped me to develop a far better work ethic than I have had before.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a really good atmosphere in the office. Everybody is really friendly, and the Manager would always say hello when you passed him in the corridor.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Pretty well organised. There was a week long induction with the other new interns, and events throughout the next months for the intern community.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I set out a personal development plan that included the different experiences I wanted to gain and skills I wanted to develop. My manager was key in helping me to achieve these, but I also had a mentor who was one of the recent graduates. He helped me in preparation for my graduate application, as well as giving advice on how I could make the most of my time at Intel.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Many interns return back in either full-time or contractor roles, so if you impress them, there is no reason why an opportunity won't come around in the future.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes everyone in the team bonded really well

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was more or less same as I spend each month at uni.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Really good.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes quite a few but you would hardly get time to be involved in those.
