    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I loved it, the best year of my life so far.

  • I felt very welcome in the company. I made many good friends among my colleagues.

  • Great support given by team leaders, line manager, management etc.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • For the majority of my placement I was busy with intersting work, at times though I had little work to do. But this was only for short periods.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Sometimes I was just a project engineer, but somtimes I was acting team leader, working directly with the client. I felt I was trusted with a lot of responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Essential skills learned for my career and the rest of my degree, as well as life skills.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Generally a very up-beat and friendly atmosphere.

  • Very well organised and I felt like I slipped into my role in the company seamlessly.

  • Aside from the project work, I also had oppotunities for external training on key topics in engineering.

  • Extremely, I would love to get a graduate postition with the company.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good social scene with other young people in the company inside and outside the office.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Bristol isn't cheap, but it a very nice city and I have a great social life here. I would love to move back here.

  • Bristol nightlife is great.

  • Many many opportunities for activities outside, so many I didn't have time for most of them.
