    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really valued my week at Savills. I was made to feel welcome, and was involved as much as possible. All members of my team at Leeds were quick to explain what they were working on and offer me tasks to work on

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was always given work to do and involved in site visits and meetings. The only draw back was i was only there for a week, which didn't allow me to get as deeply involved in projects as I would have liked. However I felt staff made every effort to include me where possible.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance whenever I needed it during my insight. Everyone was happy to offer advice from their own personal experiences both in university and when starting out as a graduate. All Savills staff I met were happy to share and answer any questions I had.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I've said everyone was happy to supply me with any answers to questions I had. I feel as though the insight week was valuable experience. I learnt a lot in terms of both technical knowledge and professional practices, my time there really broadened my understanding of the surveying profession.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • There was a rough structure to my week, with various networking opportunities. However at times (often because staff were busy with their own work) I was left to look through documents and occupy myself.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The office atmosphere was relaxed and easy going in terms of talking to people and feeling able to ask questions. Everyone was very friendly and the balance between work and social seemed to work well.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As I was only there for a short time, the firm didn't really have a huge opportunity to invest in my training. Although I felt they did teach me as much as possible in the time, I was able to pick up a number of things while on placement. Including a valuable broad understanding of the business.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • During my time there I was able to see exactly how everyone in my chosen pathway worked, getting a overview of their general working schedules, what type of pressure they were put under and what was needed to be successful in the firm. It has only encouraged me more to try to gain employment with Savills.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I was both told about and witnessed how the company operated.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It confirmed to me that I have chosen the correct pathway for myself, and has helped me to decide what side of that pathway I want to work on.
