The Role
Microsoft is a fantastic company to work for and my job was varied, fun, entertaining and much more.
I call my colleagues friends because they were just lovely people to work and socialise with.
My manager was usually around to supervise me and answer my enquiries. Sometimes I couldn't get hold of anyone and was stuck on what to do next.
Occassionaly, I had too much work and it was hard to manage. Overall though, it was a good balance and I guess I had experience of what it's really like in the real world!
I managed a few projects for my team, gave speeches to other business functions and I will get to train my replacement.
The skills I've received so far are brilliant and improve on those I've gained at university. I've learned a few others too.
The Company
The office was open plan and therefore it was good to be able to talk to everyone.
Some of the original communication could be improved: my interviewer took a while to confirm that I actually had the placement but once that was sorted, everything was fine.
I didn't get to travel anywhere which was a shame - some colleagues went to other Microsoft workplaces. However, there was plenty to do on site.

There are lots of graduate positions and full-time positions available after finishing uni.
The Culture
I went out with other students on a regular basis.
London was expensive, I didn't like the cost factor at all, but my flat was nice.
Tons of stuff to keep me occupied. Cinemas, restaurants, etc.
I don't think Microsoft organised enough activities outside of work but I did go out with other students.
