About You
This was very interesting work experience and something ive wanted to do for a very long time.
I felt that my presence was welcomed in the company and i was treated very equally with the employees who were already working there.
The whole aim of this insight was to take me through the basics and this was done very well through support and guidance from all my peers.
The skills i learned from this insight would be very useful if i chose to go into a similar industry but they did not assist me that well with my degree studies.
The Company
As this was a short placement it did not require much structure for the time to go smoothly. I was always told what i was doing at the beginning of the day.
Scenery was always changing and there was always something different to do so it was a great atmopshere/
The company did not spend any time developing me as this was work shadowing.
It is something i am considering currently because my limited time with the company gave me a thirst to work in this sort of environment.
Understanding the culture of Firstgroup was very easy and their emphasis on reliability has stuck with me since.
This experience has become a major part of my career path and its looking very likely that its something i will be trying to apply for.
Everything Else
I definitely felt well payed for the time i spent with firstgroup.
Reasonable networking opportunities and speaking with other employees definitely helped me to gain and understanding of what a future with first would mean.
There were no specific event to network but it was not difficult to achieve this during my time anyway.
I was never told about any activities outside of work
This is definitely recommendable if your interesting in this branch of engineering
