  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • It was a challenge due to my age, but over the period of my placement my energy levels improved dramatically.

    • I was made to feel very welcome, and was included by the Co-ordinator and his partner even outside of working hours.

    • Again, the Co-ordinator made sure I never felt left out of anything.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The experience gave me more insight into the problems facing South African Nature reserves and what is being done to overcome these problems.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The Co-ordinator made sure my days were varied and interesting.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • Only reason for marking this down was because there was a certain amount of friction between two of the people working on the reserve and it was impossible not to feel this.

    • Not applicable as this was a volunteer placement.

    • Not applicable due to my home commitments it is highly unlikely I would ever be able to work permanently on the Reserve.

    • N/A. This is a private nature reserved owned by a Zoo for whom I do volunteer work in the UK.
