The Role
One of the best experiences of my life.
I felt we pulled together to get through the physical challenges! Laughing all the way :)
Guidance was given throughout whilst giving us freedom and our sense of adventure.
The days where challenging physically however my fitness improved throughout. There was plenty of downtime on evening and weekends.
Alot of responsibility, such as taking part and recording data, observing the animals closely and setting mammal traps.
The team leader helped me focus on wanted I wanted to achieve and I came back to the UK with a new lease of life and I achieved a first class Hons in my degree. Umphafa helped with that.
The Company
There was no office, which made it perfect! hands on experience is what everyone needs.
Very well organised and I felt comfortable and safe at all times.
Gave me lots of hints and tips and I learnt lots of life lessons.
Flexi Time
International Travel
It's difficult as the jobs are so sought after!
The Culture
Yes, however on my placement there was only me and one other volunteer. Would be more social the more volunteers there are.
All included, apart from if you want snacks.
No nightlife and thats what I wanted :).
Take a trip down to the watering hole where you can spend the day observing giraffe, blesbock and a whole host of other animals in the natural environment.
