    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The amount of responsibility that I was given was enormous, from day 1 I was infront of customers, responding to customers emails and getting my name out there to all internal TAMs through weekly newsletters that eventually ended up in Customer inbox's.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was welcomed into the Team and soon built up a relationship with everyone within the team. Now they come to me asking questions and asking for help.

  • 5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Nearly always had something to be getting on with and during down time was encourage to study for qualifications or accreditations.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given customers to look after that were quite high profile, sending out weekly emails newsletter to customers and also looking after customers on workshops at Microsoft HQ

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have been given the oppurtunity to study for skills and qualifications that I can now take with me back to University and into other jobs and roles on my CV.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was very friendly and more than happy to give up their time for a chat or to answer any questions I had.

  • Internships are well established within Microsoft and the set up was good.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Always encouraged to go out and train and develop myself. Have earned several qualifications with more in the pipe line before leaving the company.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Although the MACH scheme is very oversubscrbied compared to the number of jobs available. Being an intern really helps with the experience if coming back for a job interview.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Great atmosphere and induction week helped everyone to get along and get to know one and other.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living and socialising was very low for me as I live round the corner so was able to live at home without paying rent so had plenty of money to go out.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Coming from the area I know where all the great places to go are so probably had a better experience than other interns that may not have known the plaes to be.

  • The team was always doing something outside of the office that I was invited to take part in.
