    The Role

  • One of the top property consultancies and definitely a target graduate destination.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My supervisors were always very appreciative of the work I completed and were generally very personable

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everything was explained clearly and supervisors were more than happy to answer questions at any time.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Fairly busy, but not overly stressed. I made a list of things I had to do every morning and there was always plenty to get on with.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was in professional services and so the work needed to be accurate. The tasks were assisting larger projects and so it was good to be involved in real examples of how the industry works as opposed to hypothetical situations and projects that other internships may offer.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills i acquired will definitely be of use in my degree and for understanding the property industry when I graduate.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I was based at 33 Margaret Street, which is effectively the HQ and everyone is very approachable. My work was research based so I had to speak to many departments and everyone is always happy to help.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a clear structure to the scheme including a historical tour of Spitalfields and a tour of the London City Office market. There was a numerical and written test in the second week.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was a mid placement review to see how you were finding the work and general experience. There was also an appraisal at the end which highlighted your competences and whether you should be considered for an assessment centre, so there is plenty of feedback on your development throughout.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Definitely a target company without a doubt.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The west end is expensive, but there is a social event on every night if you want it.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was commuting in so the travel was very expensive, but would be possible on the graduate salary if you got a job there.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Always something going on.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes.
