The Role
My placement provided me with an opportunity to really advance my skills in spearheading a project with little supervision. I was able to work how I liked and in my own time.
Very highly as the outcomes of my internship will be used to help maintain the quality at the University, benefitting students and staff alike.
My supervisor was very supportive. He allowed me to work at my own pace with little supervision and was there to provide assistance when I needed it.
I always had something to do, though I never felt stressed about the workload.
The work that I produced will be used as a basis for restructuring a major part of quality control. I was able to produce this work with little supervision meaning that the quality was solely my responsibility.
The skills I have learned will help me to develop as a project leader, exercising my expertise and analytical ability in the field of IT provisioning and consultancy.
The Company
Everyone was driven, getting on with their own work, but now and then the atmosphere relaxed into friendly chat.
All administration was efficiently looked after and training was very good.
We had training once a week to improve out employability.
The department I was working required the part time assistance of specific IT skills, however they would not be needed on a permanent basis. Opportunities are available in other departments more suited to my skills.
The Culture
As the placement was at the University there was no lack of social scene.
Cheap student accommodation and Pubs / Bars
Pubs are open late. I don't do clubbing.
There are many things todo at the University.
