  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I learned that the role wasn't for me, but I enjoyed the experience

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was doing important work that permanent employees didn't have enough time to do. I felt very highly valued.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was left to work on my own but I had guidance when I needed it. I liked this independence.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had a list to do and I worked through it at my own pace. Some days I would be busier than others.

  • I was responsible for my own jobs and I completed them

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • They helped me enhance the skills I already had. It helped me to get back into the routine of full time work.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was friendly, happy and it was a lovely environment to work with,

  • I didn't sign a contract and it was a struggle to get set up on payroll.

  • We had an ongoing training scheme with four sessions.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I know what I would like to go into and it isn't a career in Higher Education. However, the role did open my eyes to the vast variety of careers in HE.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone was lovely

  • Ok, its Birmingham after all.

  • Ok, but I didn't go out because all the other students had gone home!
