    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Excellent month at Savills! Really interesting jobs to do and I got a great insight into all aspects of what the company does.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It was a big office, with lots of people setting you tasks. It would be impossible to feel like family in that environment, but people still made an effort to talk to you and help out.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • If every you needed help, there was always someone to email. Beyond that anyone around you in the office would be happy to help with any issues, or could guide you in the right direction.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Work started slow, but then built up a lot! Whilst it was challenging, the work load was managable.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As the time progressed I started being given important tasks for the business. This showed to me that they trusted the quality of work produced, and that they were happy to use an intern's work for client provided it was good enough.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Everything from skills using the phone, to report writing skills were developed during my time.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a strong work ethic in the office, however people were still willing to have conversations, and it was a good atmophere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well structured, lots of extra talks, socials and events to attend. Cannot fault the graduate recruitment team for their work here!

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They gave me paid experiance in a field that I wanted to work in. There was no opportunity to gain qualifications etc, but then the time was too short, and those kinds of things are avaliable on the grad scheme.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very good Appraisal, and I'm now looking forward to applying for the grad scheme!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • A few socials were organised, and were good fun. It wasn't a case of drinks every other night though.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London prices sadly! Expect £5 a pint, £5 a lunch, expensive transport, etc. Accomodation is around £150 a week, so very expensive as well.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It's London, has everything!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A few opportunities for interns. Lots for full time workers though! These include sports teams, talks at lunches and parties in the evenings.

    3/5
