    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Times did get a bit tough but on the whole I enjoyed it immensely. Great people, interesting work and no day was the same!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There's a brilliant atmosphere at Deloitte. I can approach anyone with any concerns. Although this is a multinational business, everybody in the office listens to your issues.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Each employee is given an appraisal manager should they have any problems. If this is not enough, Deloitte has more than enough resources to provide sufficient support.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As this is a high quality professional firm, work is always flowing. This is probably the only downside on the placement as times can get tough! Although, the support is there should you need it.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Placement students are treated the exact same as any graduate joining. As such, you are responsible for your sections of the task and contribute to the team's goals.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Attending this placement has allowed my to develop my skills astronomically. I have learnt much more in my placement year than I have in my first 2 years of university. These are technical skills as well as "soft" skills such as communication. These will be vital in the career I want to pursue.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Office activities are arranged monthly and are very social.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Deloitte and my uni have been doing the placement route together for many years. As such, there were no issues with setting all the admin up and Deloitte gave me time off for my exams at uni.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As I was treated as a graduate and a potential graduate for the future, Deloitte invested a lot of training and development exercises to better my skills. From events down Birmingham to Aberdeen, I attended each session to help me improve.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    1/5

  • I have been offered a job upon the completion of my university degree.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Month end drinks and other activities were organised every month so the office was extremely social.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Aberdeen is quite an expensive place to live due to the oil and gas industry.

    2/5

    4/5
