    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very much so. It was amazing to be part of a corporate environment and have responsibilities at just 18 years old. The people were lovely, I have definitely made some friends for life.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Surprisingly more valued than first expected

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was a sense of 'there is never a stupid question' throughout all projects

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Often very busy, but that wasn't a negative situation at all

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Enough to feel valued, not too much so I felt overwhelming pressure

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A lot of soft and hard life skills were picked up, especially during the training days we were given

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was calm, and often people would be heavily concentrating but there was nothing to stop me going round to people's desks and having a chat, or going for a tea/coffee break

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • All the events/training were very well executed, especially the 2 week residential training - it was such hard work but Deloitte knew exactly what skills to train us for before beginning real work

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were vast opportunities for personal development and chances to work on projects that I was particularly interested in, overall it was very accomodating

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, as I've had experience with them I know exactly what it will be like to join as a graduate and because of this scheme, I wouldn't have to go through the first stages of the application process if I decide to join.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Ample social events were put on for us, and we organised our own holidays abroad and after-work socials multiple times a week

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Because it was C.London it was fairly expensive, but the salary was so great, money wasn't an issue. I even had money to save for a car and travelling for the summer

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was a club literally next door, several pubs within 2 minutes walking distance and more clubs just a short taxi/tube journey away

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of charity events, parties, social clubs were out there. Including individual department socials/away days

    4/5
