    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • There were case studies, business games and a presentation that gave more information on the application process for a graduate job, summer internship or a placement. These made the day very enjoyable but also important for those considering applying to the bank as they gave hints and tips on how to make a successful application to the bank. The case studies and business games made the day interactive and it was really good to learn more about why others had chosen to attend the event.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The bank provided refreshments and lunch throughout the day. They were very friendly and made sure that there was time to ask questions in between the talks and presentations. It was fantastic to be able to network with current employees at the bank and understand their role within the bank and how they got there.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The bank gave good guidance on making successful application to the bank for there various programmes, this made the day worthwhile and very important for someone who is considering applying there.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not only did they give information for making a successful application, they also gave information on the whole application process. They spoke about what they look for and the key skills they are impressed by when they consider applications to their programmes. There was a group exercise that is similar in the nature to what they do, which really helped show what they are looking for.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The whole day ran smoothly with no delays. Everybody knew what they were doing and it felt like the structure was right. In the afternoon after a networking lunch we were given a presentation on the selection skills which was split with a coffee break. They also devoted time to a panel discussion giving us invaluable information on what it is actually like to work at the bank.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Overall, the atmosphere was one of excitement. The insight day was truly helpful and important. The employees were friendly and answered all questions with lots of detail. It was an atmosphere of one that you would definitely like to work in, relaxed yet professional.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The bank offered great insight into what they do, their role in the economy and what it is like to work there. They helped invest by giving insight into the selection process by providing guidance throughout the whole process.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Although the networking really helped understand the environment of the bank and what it is like to work there, the bank didn't give a good understanding of what it would be like to have a full time role with them because they didn't go into enough detail of the various roles within the bank. Having said that they did go through the various departments of the bank and the panel discussion helped, but there wasn't much detail on what it would really be like to work there.

    3/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The smooth structure showed there professionalism. Not only this but be able to network with current employees showed what exactly the environment is like working for the bank and their culture.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It gave lots of information for the process of applying but also gave information on the different roles that can be filled by graduates. The information from the brochure helped give the exact details of what each department does and thus helping in future career decisions.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The bank gave expense letters for expenses acquired for attending the insight. Not only this but the following day they sent the same letter via email to ensure that everybody who attended had received the expense form so that they can be reimbursed for any travel expenses. They provided the letter and the envelope which was already stamped.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There was a networking lunch, a whole hour devoted to allow networking to take place. The employees were friendly, answered all questions and gave honest opinions of their work. There was also a panel discussion allowed questions to be answered by employees at the bank. This gave lots of information and made the day truly worthwhile.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Cannot think of how they could have improved. The networking was very important in getting first hand views of what it is like to work for the bank.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • The networking allowed more understanding from the employees of what activities they do outside of work. However although they have annual events at the bank such as governor's day there should be more events. But they do have sports clubs and this means that there is lots to get involved but depends on if you want to.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • The overall experience of the day made it something that you would recommend to others. The importance of the day through the networking and presentations make it a truly worthwhile event.
