The Role
It was such a good experience, would reccomend it to anyone! I got given so much responsibilty and got treated like a normal full time employee rather than a placement student.
The people i worked with made me feel really at home and helped me with an issues i had.
I not only had a manager but also a mentor who guided me through my year at Microsoft. They both gave me great advice and tried to get me to achieve a lot in my year.
I was busy but i felt like i had the choice to do as much or as little as i wanted and make my year what i wanted it to be.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement. I pretty much worked with a customer on my own.
It gave me the encouragement and determination to work hard this year. I have increased my grade to a 1st this year just from the skills i learnt on my placement.
The Company
It was fun and colleagues were great to work with but we still all knew when to work hard.
Very well organised. I had a development plan from day 1 of what i wanted to achieve from my year that i created with my mentor.
I attented training, events, courses and took exams all of which were paid for by Microsoft. I could not have asked for more.

Hopefully good as i am now down to final stage of the graduate scheme.
The Culture
We had so much fun together. All went out a few times a week :)
It was not very cheap to rent but socialising was pretty good as there were local univeristities with many student events.
Pretty good, as i said university clubs and also many night clubs and bars. We went out quite a bit!
I worked as a volunteer with microsoft in a developing school. There were also charity runs and events. Microsoft like to get involved with things outside of work also.
