    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I am currently still on my work placement at Webfusion, working within the marketing team. I am thoroughly enjoying both the responsibility entrusted in myself and the variety of avenues that the team have helped guide me through since starting my industrial placement. I am particularly grateful for the support offered and it has helped me cement a clear understanding of the career path I wish to take after graduation, which prior to my placement I was particularly unsure of.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel I have become a valued member of the team, making contributions to all aspects of the business. Due to the amount of responsibility I am given in my role managing the affiliate channel, I feel that I have become a fully integrated member of the marketing team and I will be sad to leave when my placement end!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support channels are clearly in place and help is on hand should you require it. I particularly enjoy the fact you are entrusted with your own tasks and a clear structure of goals and requirements is in place from day one.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My daily workload can vary depending on the task in hand; however taking lead responsibility of one of the channels has obviously seen my workload increase. This is something that I particular thrive upon and I am very surprised how fast the work day goes. A typical day would see me reporting on merchant performance, allocating budgets and liaising with our account managers to gain further exposure. I feel, Webfusion manage to strike the perfect balance between lettings you have full control of your projects without you feeling out of your depth.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was both surprised and excited by the responsibility entrusted in myself as a student, as many of my friends on industrial placement have reported feeling undervalued and not trusted with key tasks.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My marketing skill set has developed greatly and I feel both the life experience and general business related knowledge gained from my industrial placement will prove invaluable, when I eventually enter the job market. I am constantly learning from my working environment, which will undoubtedly provide me with key content to implement when writing my dissertation in final year.
