    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Webfusion. I feel that I have definitely chosen the beste place for my work placement. The main reasons for my enjoyment of working at Webfusion have been my colleagues and the friendliness of the company, as well as the level of responsibility I have been given in my role. I would recommend Webfusion to any student looking for a work placement.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel extremely valued by my colleagues. I am always praised for the work I do and have never felt unappreciated. I feel truly respected and valued by my colleagues and am treated as a real employee of the company, rather than just a work placement student. This has been extremely important to me. The "Webfusion family" have all been so friendly and welcoming and this has helped me to increase my confidence and communication skills as well.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given just the right amount of support and guidance for my role. I feel that the support and guidance was enough to give me a kick start in the role. Initially, the support and guidance provided to me was fantastic and I was always given the opportunity to discuss my concerns. I love the "open-door" policy at Webfusion, in which managers always leave their doors open for the team to discuss anything they wish. However, I am also extremely happy that after a while I was left to learn the rest of the work on the job as this gave me the experience of picking things up as I go along and I feel it has developed me into a fast learner. Eventually, I have been given the responsibility of dealing with tasks on my own. However, my supervisors always ensure that they are there for any concerns or guidance.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At Webfusion I have had days which were extremely busy and I have at times had to work over-time. However, I enjoy having a lot of work to do to challenge myself and keep me busy. I feel that I work best when under pressure and have had to do so in circumstances such as court hearings. Although this can be demanding and stressful, I feel that I have enjoyed myself the most at these times. This is very different to how I had imagined work experience to be and I was pleasantly surprised.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given an immense amount of responsibility during my time at Webfusion. It has certainly not been just an admin role as some would expect work placement to be! I have really enjoyed the responsibility as it gave me a real taste of working life. I feel that my managers and team leaders have been extremely trusting in the amount of responsibility they have given me. Because of the responsibility given to me, I was able to truly experience different areas of law and how the law works in practice.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that the skills I have developed are skills for life. I have developed an unbelievable amount of skills during my time here. I have been on training programmes, such as for Employment Tribunals which have been in connection with London law firms, as well as internal training programmes such as for Data Protection. The practical skills I have learnt will most certainly come into use for future employment as well as for my studies.
