The Role
It was a great chance to see how a big industry works
My manager has been great and very helpful throughout my placement.
Naturally some days are a lot busier than others, but I always have something to do.
Only being a summer placement student, there is only so much responsibility that they can give you.
Eventhough I am studying Physics at univeristy the structured and technical skills that I have gained during my time with Centrica will certainly help in the future.
The Company
Everyone has been bery friendly, it is a very relaxed atmosphere but they work very hard at the same time.
Other than the placement itself and a career coaching phonecall not much more training was provided, however I understand that the placement was only 10 weeks long. My placement was my first experience of industry and therefore I learnt a lot.

Hopefully we will be offered a grad scheme!
The Culture
Unfortunately the engineers are all placed individually at their placements where as the management, IS, and Finance students were all placed in a group at their locations. Therefore other than the times when we were required to be in Windsor or we organised to go and see another site, we did not come across other summer placement students.
King's Lynn is not really famous for it's nightlife, Norwich is close enough, but at the power plant there wasn't anyone my age, so there wasn't anyone to go out with.
There were e.g. Ascot but they were all centrally located in Windsor, therefore it was difficult for me to get to.
