  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This is the only job I have ever had where I looked forward to going to work every day.

  • Joining my team at Microsoft felt like joining a family. I have made life friends.

  • If I ever had a problem in my role I always felt like I could take it up with my manager and he would help me to know end to resolve whatever difficulty I was experiencing.

  • The nature of the job meant I was either very busy or not busy at all. But I like that about it.

  • I was given a lot of responsibility in my role, but I embraced it and it has given me a better work ethic and skills that I can use in my next role!

  • I have attained skills and made connections with people that have set me up for a career.

  • The atmosphere in the office was relaxed and everyone is so friendly.

  • I was an unusual case in the beginning of my placement. So I cant really comment.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Due to the size of the office the number of people working there the social scene was what you made of it, there are a few events in the MS social calendar though.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The centre of Edinburgh is quite expensive for living.

  • The nightlife in Edinburgh is quite good, there is plenty to do and plenty of places to go.

  • As I said before there are plenty of things in the MS calendar that occur outside of work.
