    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My day to day role on placement included much admin work, this involved writing notes reviews for service users, creating resources for groups, researching topics for literature reviews. I was often able to sit in on 1-1 sessions with service users, to observe the structure of therapy sessions. As well as being able to sit in on and be involved in delivering group interventions. at the end of my placement i was given the opportunity to develop my own group therapy and deliver this on my own.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have develop my communication skills further, talking to service users has allowed me to be more empathetic and understanding of what they are going through. Often times they just want someone to listen to them, this has allowed me to develop active listening skills. I have been able to work independently on lots of projects, which has allowed me to develop time management and organisation skills.
