Overview
Reviewing online material, uploading critiques or changes. Emailing lecturers for clarification. This was an entirely remote internship.
Skills
I learnt new skills regarding the process of research and what needs to be done to pass through an ethics committee. As well as online working with other interns to review our individual work.
Responsibilities
If I had applied for the summer internship (which scheduling did not allow) I would have been reviewing the collected data, sorting it and writing collated reports. I would have also had my name published on the findings.
Support & Guidance
I was supported very well by the lecturers and the guidance was clear and concise. I knew what I was doing and what was expected of me.
Culture
Very good culture, the staff knew each other well and they were easy to talk to and understanding about what support we needed.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship. I have always been interested in conducting research and this gave me the opportunity to have a short experience to get a feel for what the process is like and if I would like to continue to pursue research.
