    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I accepted a position on the commercial rotation pathway undertaking rotations in Development Consultancy & Residential/ Development Valuations. This involved undertaking Red Book Valuations, market reports, viability reviews and running both development & residual appraisals. Savills gave me huge amounts of responsibility from start to finish both with the work carried out including client facing work, whilst also involving me in the networking side of the business with neighbouring firms.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Yes. With the Surveying industry being hugely client facing it has allowed me to develop my network whilst also building on my confidence. The work in which I carried out has allowed me to build upon my report writing skills, that also including both excel and argus. Savills has given me great expose to the different software used in the industry to generate reports.

  • Be totally transparent, they like to see your personality. Be open minded with the different rotations & don't be set on one particular thing because each rotation will 100% surprise you. Be positive and enthusiastic, whilst showing a willingness to get involved in different kinds of work and networking events both externally and internally.
