    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I have a number of responsibilities; accepting or declining subcontractor invoices and applications for payments, adding them to a evaluation and using evidence to determine whether we agree with applications or not. Working along side other QS and Commercial managers to manage costs by allocation codes and organizing data in regards to the works for the purpose of conflict resolution etc. Measuring works both physically and digitally.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • It is a lovely atmosphere with plenty of banter and its very comfortable. I never felt uneasy talking about any problems I had someone would always lend an ear. I really love the IAmHere scheme used company wide and the access to useful information is great.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I am really enjoying this placement as I am learning a lot my only chagrin is that days can sometimes be very slow as the work so spread and there is a lot of reliance on others to do their jobs that you don't always have something to do.

  • Sisk is a great friendly company and provides plenty of opportunities to learn and develop. If sitting in an office all day isn't your forte you can always walk around site (if qualified to do so CSCS). I would love to work with them again if the opportunity arose.
