    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I help work out the viability of a development by carrying out a Financial Viability Assessment. This helps to determine the amount of affordable housing that can be provided within a proposed development. On a day-to-day basis this involves collecting comparable evidence by looking at the local area to find similar schemes that are currently on the market or that have sold/let recently. I will then collate the evidence and write a description about each comparable determining whether it will command higher or lower capital values than our scheme. This information will then be used to price the scheme and complete a FVA.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to complete a Financial Viability Assessment. I have also developed my ability to collect relevant comparable evidence and understand what makes good evidence and what doesn't. As well as this, I have developed my people skills having to socialise with colleagues with different personalities. I have also developed my time management, attention to detail and punctuality.
