Maintained open communication with a large network of individuals to help coordinate engagement events. Joining group calls and meetings to discuss developments in planning. Speaking with engineers and senior management to discuss opportunities and threats that existed within the industry. In-putting data into shared excel sheet and reaching out to internal/external business units.

I have increased my confidence, especially when presenting to a room full of people. I've also built on my communication skills through regularly being exposed to senior stakeholders. I've also built my networking capabilities.

Yes I was encouraged to book time into colleagues calendars to discuss developments in planning events. I also lead several meetings with colleagues. I was also responsible for booking/expensing business travel etc. which was new to me.

I developed a great relationship with my line manager who was extremely supportive. I was also assigned a 'buddy' who drew upon their own experience and helped advised me during my placement. The early careers team are always on hand to answer any questions too.

The culture is extremely supportive and collaborative. You are guaranteed to get a response from a colleague if you reach out to them for help. It feels like there is room for everyone to flourish and I was continually encouraged to develop.

I loved my time within my internship. I got to travel to places I had never been before. I met friends for life and expanded my career network massively. I also got exposure to an exciting industry that I can see myself pursuing further.

Embrace all of the many opportunities you will be offered. As there is such a supportive culture, don't be afraid to reach out to colleagues. In my experience, every person I've ever spoken to has been more than happy to talk to me. There are lot's of opportunities within Centrica and you'll be more than likely to find something that peaks your interest.
