    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I work within the corporate banking group EMEA. This involves primarily updating and creating credit reviews and annual reports for EMEA-based clients. This relates to analyzing companies' creditworthiness through their financial statements and yearly outlooks. Moreover, updating capital allocation memos to approve the renewal of credit lines or to increase commitment to certain companies. The credit lines are either RCFs or term loans.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learned a mix of both soft and hard skills throughout my experience at Wells Fargo. The structured training set up the HR department allowed me to refine my networking and communication skills by setting up many events with senior executives and help us how to optimally brand ourselves in a work environment. On the technical side, I learnt about the operations of corporate banking, i.e., the process of financing corporations.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a good amount of responsibility. It took form in actively assisting in live deals with the deal teams. I was able to be assigned a good portion of the credit documents and work on them independently. While I would have enjoyed more responsibility, the given time frame restrained me to only a limited amount of responsibility.
