  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Numerous tasks supporting all the different tax teams and also accounting. Routinely prepare and submit tax payments as well as compliance management. Create invoices - ensure they are VAT compliant and track payments.

  • Technical Skills: VAT refunds, RND tax claim, invoice creation, different tax legislations around Europe, Purchase order creation/payment. Systems/softwares: SAP, Blackline, Excel, Salesforce, PowerBI. Soft Skills: time management, initiative, critical thinking, professionalism, communication, public speaking, efficiency

  • Yes, responsibility far exceeded what I was expecting. Developing trust with colleagues resulted in me taking on projects and tasks that were akin to full time employee work.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Mentor/buddy program meant that I had a POC who I could confine in with any issue both technical and non-technical. Super knowledgeable across the entire business - even areas they have no real exposure to. All employees super helpful and often found them dropping their current task to support if I reached out.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Inclusive and relaxed. Mental well-being prioritised. Encouraged to take breaks for ergonomic and societal reasons. Hybrid work environment which has resulted in the office being sparsely populated. Some interns left with minimal face-to-face contact time with colleagues.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Enjoyed it a lot, responsibility exceeded expectations, good quality of work, nice office environment and culture, lots of CSR opportunities, network of interns made the integration and social experience simpler

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Intel Corporation
  • At least from an intern perspective - it is what you make of it. By default, some interns are busier and have a greater workload than others. But there is always more work available upon request. Encouraged opportunities to try/sample different teams and BUs within the company. It is a friendly corporate environment which welcomes anyone and everyone.
