Overview
The first week involved a lot of training for Excel, EMS and DNet for example. We were also required to do a lot of e-learning in the first 4 days in the office. Then each of us (we were a team of 7 interns) would be placed in a team to work on an engagement. As I was doing audit, a lot of my work involved looking at desktop reviews and financial statements
Skills
I have developed technical skills like using Excel Improved my public speaking skills during the team meetings Learned how to prioritize my tasks to deliver quality work
Business Insight
It was a lot of technical terms at the start that I did not understand but my team was always happy to hop on a call and help me understand The Buddy helped me understand how each role is called and who would qualify as more junior or more senior for example
Culture
It was a very social atmosphere as we always had socials organised by the firm There was no superiority issue between the interns and the more senior people of the firm and you could always go and ask them any questions you had
Your Impressions
It was a great experience that taught me a lot about the industry and helped me build my perspective on a future career in audit My team was very helpful and made me feel included throughout the programme

That even if they don't think they have the right background for the job, still apply I am a Chemistry major and joined Deloitte to do audit
