Shadowing consultants and partners in client meetings to learn more about building client relationships. Work closely with junior analysts on a range of very interesting projects for big household names.

I have been able to develop my problem solving skills when tasked with helping to develop future tax roadmap for clients. I have also developed my teamwork and communication when working in multiple different teams throughout my team here. I have also learnt how to use Excel proficiently as well as learning to use Kofax and other technical software techniques.

It was very eye-opening to see all the different teams and sub-service lines within these teams, showing the sheer size of the company and the opportunities available here. Speaking to some of the current employees, I also learnt about their different career paths and how they got to Deloitte and what their own career aspirations are to give me a better insight to the long-term future of my own career.

The company culture and atmosphere was a real highlight. Everyone I have met has been extremely kind and open to talking about their work. It is clear that the company value their employees and put in a lot of effort to ensure their staff can maintain a healthy work-life balance. Even in my sub-service team, monthly nights out and activities are planned which makes the whole team more relaxed and enjoyable to be around.

Everyone was willing to make time, no matter how senior, to get a coffee and have a chat about some of the work they do and answer my questions. Because of this I was able to meet lots of new people, have all my questions answered and enjoy my time on the scheme even more.

Make the most of any free time by introducing yourself to new people; everyone is so friendly and will make time in their busy schedule to meet with you. I would also advice on asking for as much work as possible where you can as this is the best way to learn about the different type of work happening.
