Overview
Summer Internship helping engineers with their tasks, report/presentation prep, CAD drawings, calculations for utility design
Skills
CAD, Bluebeam, GIS
Responsibilities
No. Most of my work was double checked by a grad before being sent off. The work was mostly very low level.
Support & Guidance
There was enough if you asked for it. If you were proactive, there was more than enough support and guidance
Culture
Very friendly and non hierarchal. Directors and interns mingle which helps with finding out if the team / job scope is what you want to go into in the future. Very collaborative and flexible as well including options to work from home twice a week.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed it very much. Exposed me more to the general daily work of civil infrastructure engineer. Made a lot of connections within the industry as well who I will keep in contact with
Yes
Just be yourself and be socially conscience. Arup prioritises sustainability, so ensure that your social conscience aligns with that as well.
