    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a UK wide fire engineering team working as highly skilled fire consultants, the day is always different with several projects ongoing at any time and an opportunity to dive into areas of specialism and to develop your skillset. Day to day tasks involved markups, report writing, and communication both within the team and with the wider design team.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Technical Communication skills are key and I feel mine developed massively with my time at Arup, the ability to convey highly technical work to the wider design team was really important. Applying book knowledge from university was also important, allowing for these skills to be put into practice.
