Overview
So I'm aiding a team in their goals towards sustainable development by reading up on legislation from various jurisdictions about energy and climate goals. I use this knowledge to write feasibility reports for clients. I also help run simulations and calculations on fluid flow.
Skills
I previously didn't use excel much at uni as we were encouraged to use other software, but it has been made clear to me how widely used it is in industry and so I am learning to become more adept with it.
Responsibilities
Whilst I'm not doing anything heavily important I do feel that the work I do will be useful and actually used to help clients. I get left alone a lot so I like the level of trust they have given me to get on with work on my own with promting.
Support & Guidance
Whilst I was sort of just given work, there were always people about who I could ask for help or clarification if I did start to struggle or not understand anything.
Culture
Relaxed, everyone is very chatty and lets you be an independent worker when you want to.
Your Impressions
I enjoy learning what working is actually like in industry and I get to get advice from my colleagues about what path is best for my career in the future. Although some of the work is a bit slow but this was what everyone in industry has to deal with. 7/10
Yes
They are very welcoming and accommodating so just be yourself. The work is very manageable so don't worry about being overwhelmed.
