  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The job mostly consists in developing FPGA Video IPs for the upcoming releases of Intel Quartus. This implies being part of the entire design and testing process of product.

  • During the placement I have developed a various number of skills. I have gained experience with System Verilog, TCL scripting, and learned how to utilise a variety of RTL testing and debugging tools.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. After going through the onboarding project, I have been actively contributing to the creation of Image Sensor Processing IPs. I have been trusted with not just testing of currently existing IPs, but also designing and planning new IPs.

  • The team has been very supportive of me during the entire placement duration. I have been closely guided throughout the onboarding project and I have received great assistance and advice whenever I ran into a problem.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • The placement has been a great experience for me, as it allowed me to dive into a work area that I am interested in, and to meet wonderful people. The social activities have also allowed me to get to know the people around me on a more personal level and to feel included from the very first day.
