    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I am a Business Change Analyst, which means that I initiate or support changes within my department. I analyse the impact and benefits and I interact with stakeholders from the business to either get their opinion on the change or collect requirements from them. The tasks I did in my role included data analysis, interpretation and presenting, project management, facilitating kick-off meetings, prepare presentation packs and note taking in meetings.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have further developed my presentation and facilitation skills. I have learned data analysis & interpretation, project, stakeholder and risk management, and writing. For soft skills I have further developed my leadership, communication abilities, critical thinking and decision making.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • It was an ascendant curve, although, since the start of the placement I felt I was accountable of the tasks and deliverables given. The responsibility aspect has ramped up naturally as the placement progressed, with increasingly more tasks given, bit higher expectations and increasingly bigger impact projects I got involved in. All that while also everybody had in mind that I am new and I will make mistakes at times.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • In one sentence: Ask and you will receive. I have never came across a point where somebody denied or hesitated from offering me feedback. Everybody was supportive. Scheme managers, my manager, and even the director of my department. My manager has provided huge support in terms of valuable advice and guidance in my work. He also knew what projects to nudge me into so I got plenty of exposure to skills and tasks.
