    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist head engineers tackle daily challenges and develop factory improvement projects in the manufacture of copper pipes, press structures, paint, and heat cell pre-assembly. Engage in multiple projects with a cross-functional team to maintain and improve processes. Projects involve designing tooling, assembly jigs, inspection gauges and workstations and integration of new machines into production. Responsible for factory layout and administration duties such as purchasing.

  • Significant improvement of CAD. Developed technical understanding of manufacturing processes for press, tubing, paint, and assembly. Improved ability to interpret and create technical drawings. Exposure to quality inspection processes and technologies. Improvement of communication, project management, and cross-functional teamwork. Practical skills with power tools.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Responsible for purchasing duties for team. Maintaining an accurate, high standard of the factory layout in relation to ongoing projects. Given significant responsibility, freedom, and support in individual project with strong financial backing. All tasks undertaken are essential for the continuity of production and business as well as future development.
