    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the virtual internship and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The programme involved a junior talent welcome and senior welcome to UBS including a Diversity and Inclusion session so that we could feel really welcome at UBS. There was plenty of networking and we had a huge insight into the social impact UBS holds and plays, that differentiates it from other banks. There was a day in the life and overview of all the various departments and also more personal sessions such as personal branding, networking, stock competition.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The program offered me a valuable chance to expand my knowledge of the financial services industry, with a particular focus on investment banking, and to gain practical experience in this field. A key skill for investment bankers is the ability to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to clients and colleagues. During the program, I acquired effective communication techniques through presentations and written reports. In addition, the program provided numerous opportunities to refine my analytical skills by tackling case studies, financial analysis exercises, and various other projects. As teamwork is fundamental in investment banking, the program allowed me to enhance my time management abilities by engaging in time-sensitive tasks that required a collaborative effort.

The recruitment team was exceptional in their friendliness and willingness to help, and I had a fantastic experience both on-site and virtually.
