    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very relaxed environment, it was a lot of fun. Even though I had a lot of work to do and a lot of responsibilities, I never felt as a 'student' at Microsoft, but part of the team and actually felt like I was making a difference. Aside from normal working days, we had different fun events that we went to, massive nights out and overall it was great fun.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • You have the freedom of chosing to attend different training sessions and here at Microsoft there is a large variety you can chose from - either online or face to face. Great support and have gained skills that will definitely help me in my future career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was really a lot of fun but also you need to know when the fun stops and need to do some work. It is very flexible in a sense that as long as you can do your job successfully andwork on your personal development, the fun never stops.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As there was a large number of interns, we managed to stay very close and create events and nights to go out. There is a large intern community and a lot of people at Microsoft to support us and help us when necessary.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have definitely learnt more than I ever expected to and they do that by not trating you like an intern, but as a team member and valuable colleague. Microsoft invested a lot in our trainind and even though throughout the year it didn't seem like I learnt much because there was always something new to learn, at the end I look back and I think it's unbelivable that I managed to learn so much about how the business works in just one year
