    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I was in contact with customers daily, scoping out problems and goals. We looked at digital transformation strategies and how each client could stay ahead of the curve in this new technology-intense era. Daily tasks varied between running buzz days and customer events to check-in progress calls and general 1:1 conversations about future goals and how Microsoft technologies tied into them.

  • I massively developed organisational, stakeholder management and presentation skills due to the intense customer-facing nature of my job. This helped me improve my confidence but also learn more about what technology is really about and how it can be applied to real life business scenarios

  • Yes. After the 6 month mark, I was assigned my own customers to manage as well as given more responsibility when helping full-time colleagues run events and presentations.

  • I received tons of support from my manager with whom I had weekly 1:1s as well as from my wider team and mentor/buddy assignments who allowed me further shadowing opportunities as well as monthly or bi weekly check-ins

  • Don’t be afraid to “come as your are and do what you love”. Microsoft always looked at me as a person rather than just my skill set, shoe your enthusiasm and commitment and you are already halfway to success.
