    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • There are excellent opportunities to develop your people skills by interacting with stakeholders and agencies to reach a common goal. Communication skills are enhanced by learning how to communicate your needs quickly and efficiently, as well as learning how to give concise yet clear feedback. Also the opportunity to develop marketing skillset through various platforms such as Sprinklr, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Photoshop, SAP, Oracle Eloqua and more. Not many jobs give you the opportunity to develop such a wide skillset.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • There are not many companies who will give you as much responsibility as Siemens bestows upon you. The opportunities are endless, it is about seizing them. The company emphasises the importance of nurturing Early Careers talent as these people will ultimately end up running the business in a decade or two. The support is exceptional and your colleagues will guide you and answer any questions you may have. Yet they are also keen to learn from you too.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • There is a growth culture at Siemens which means everyone is always open to learning. As long as you join with a growth mindset and are willing to take onboard support and guidance you will go far. The upper management are just as keen to support and guide you as your line manager, so it is really about seizing every opportunity you are given in order to grow and develop. I personally have never received so much support and guidance during an internship ever.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have never enjoyed an internship so much and never felt like an Intern. I felt like a colleague of the team who had been there for years! The amount of responsibility I was given was equivalent to someone who had worked for Siemens for years! I am so grateful to the team and to Siemens for giving me this opportunity and setting me up for a long and fruitful career! I would recommend to anyone considering!

  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Siemens
  • Firstly, you have to understand what exactly it is that Siemens does, which can be confusing as they do so many things in so many different industries. The baseline is, Siemens solves problems for customers, and do so in the industries that form the backbone of our economy - industry, infrastructure, transport etc. Next, refine your CV to match the job description of the role you are applying for. Only add experience that is truly relevant to the role.
