    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • New skills I have learned include reviewing Stage 4 and As-Built mechanical services drawings as well as some experience in IES Virtual Environment energy modeling. On top of this the internship developed essential skills such as Exel and interpersonal working skills

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • ARUP interns are supported by their line manager as well as a 'Buddy' who is usually a relatively new graduate (been at the company less than 2 years ish). So you are not short of support if it is needed. Everyone who set me a task explained it clearly and were happy to help if further explanation was needed.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The office has a great atmosphere with people happy to help or chat about the work. The company culture at ARUP is different to other companies I've worked at due to it being an employee owned company and I found there were more regular socials and fewer meetings.
