Overview
Tasks from senior engineer/engineer. Tasks like utility demand calculations, drainage plans, surface water attenuation designs.
Skills
Using microdrainage, Power BI for displaying utility demands, excel operations when creating carbon costing database
Responsibilities
Yes. Was given a lot of independent work, all utility demand calculations and surface water runoff/attenuation volumes. Was also given freedom to design based on calculations.
Support & Guidance
If I reached out, the team was very happy to help, but it is easy to get lost and stay quiet if you don't branch out. But the person delegating the work also checks up on how I was doing on the task if it's been a bit of time since getting the task.
Culture
Extremely friendly, good work life balance, was very easy to get integrated into the team. Pub trips after work with colleagues definitely built a sense of community
Your Impressions
Enjoyed it very much. The support meant I was able to make the most of my time. The grads were also very helpful and friendly from the get go to incorporate us into the wider team. Got stuck on a project quite early on meant I learnt a lot and was able to dive deep into a specific project.
Yes
