    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I accepted work from a variety of teams. This typically involved reading and editing reports, updating sales databases, creating graphs and finding sales comparisons. On most days I accompanied senior employees for their meetings in order to learn more about the project. There were also frequent networking events and training seminars

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My excel and data analysis skills have greatly improved and I have been introduced to markets and asset classes that I hadn't considered before. I learnt how to prepare investment memoranda and sales teasers and was able to practice and develop my modelling skills.

  • I was impressed by how much responsibility I was given, even on the first day. It was great to be a part of real projects, often with strict deadlines.

  • My team, and especially my mentor, were very supportive and also gave plenty of advice on my career in general.

  • There was a definitely a positive culture/atmosphere. People were friendly and I was invited to drinks and meals with the team.
