Overview
Check emails in the morning and answer them. Attend meetings with frontline to assess their controls. Assist in the production of reporting materials. Compile events and issues data.
Skills
The most important skill I have developed has been Excel. I spent most of my time on excel and so I learned a lot of shortcuts and tricks.
Responsibilities
Early on in the internship, my exposure was limited due to train strikes but I began to get more responsibility as the weeks progressed. The latter end of the internship was similarly slow as many people were on holiday.
Support & Guidance
We received a lot of good guidance, especially from the learning and development team at Wells Fargo who committed a lot of time to our soft skills and career development opportunities.
Culture
Amazing. Everyone was more than happy to answer my questions and would make time to accommodate me as an intern.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed being part of the Ops Risk team, simply because the people I worked with were so welcoming and understanding. The team helped me to fit in nicely and were always on hand to address any concerns that I had so I will always recommend the internship for anyone considering it.
