  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working with a team of multi disciplined engineers in order to provide a cost benefit analysis on the re-instatement of a vessel back to a three phase separator at the Easington terminal . Day to day had to set up meeting with team members and line managers and key stake holders in order to ask questions on the project and provide up dates on the progress of the project through the nine weeks that the project took place over.

  • My line manager was available during all working hours if there was any issues or any areas that I was unsure with. Senior team members within control and instrumentation made their time available in order to help with my areas of the project. I was also given a buddy at the start of the project who was a graduate on on the scheme and they gave me starting tips and also help with project and none project issues throughout the whole scheme

  • This was great atmosphere and was made to feel welcome thought out the whole 9 weeks. Everyone that I spoke to was reassuring and provided feedback if needed. There was a culture of making sure we were included in the meeting and our ideas were valuable. Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement and internship however there was areas such as the charity challenge that I feel was forced and badly run. My project that i was assigned took up all of my work however people with my charity challenge did not seem to have the same level of work which was off putting and ruined some of the placement for myself

  • I would tell them to make the most of their time during the placement the nine weeks will fly past very quickly and before you know it will be over. Also do not be afraid to contact people during the placement to make sure the stream that you are on is the correct one for you and also check to make sure the jobs within your stream is also the correct on for you as well
