    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I have assisted with mainly estate management; honing in on my valuation and comparable skills, due diligence and inspections of land. I have been in and out of the office which has been very enjoyable, seeing clients and tenants on their land, viewing prospective properties and seeing a land sale from start to finish, including assisting with the valuation and site visit.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Coming into this internship I had very little experience of what estate management entails so this has been a great skill I have learnt; how to produce comparables for valuations, some aspects of law, through due diligence and drafting tenancy documents. I have also helped with marketing which I have little experience with. I have been given lots of solo work and work to assist colleagues which has given me a broad range of collaborative and independent skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, a mix of independent and group work meant I was always doing something, with a lot of it solely being my responsibility. I have completed work for my superiors which has been helpful in future decisions made over land.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Where it was needed I received it, any questions I had were answered in full and before tasks complete directions were given to me as to what needed to be done. This also allowed me to take initiative and do many things myself. Although I had direction, I also had freedom in how I completed the tasks set.
