    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Vacation Student within the Strategy and Economics Team, over a four-week Internship period. Working extensively on acquisitions, contributing to final reports, and presenting my research in team meetings. Providing commercial advice for clients, conducting due diligence in Excel, and creating my own proposals.


    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed my skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Through reviewing financial models and conducting due diligence, I have developed my knowledge of advanced Excel functions and ability to analyse financial data. I have also created proposals in PowerPoint and presented my reports in team meetings.

    Responsibilities

  • I was given lots of responsibility during my Internship, from analysing information for clients to developing my own proposals for a bid. I felt I was a valued team member and contributed to work from many different sectors.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My manager oversaw the work I completed throughout the entire duration of my Internship, supported by weekly check-ups. I was able to ask any questions, or advice I required. The team was supportive and approachable.

  • The company culture is friendly and welcoming, supported by an equal, inclusive and diverse environment.   • I highly enjoyed my Internship, surrounded by a supporting team and exciting opportunities. I was able to work primarily within the energy and sustainability sector, contributing to live projects.

  • Be natural and express your personality at interview. Show clear interest in the work of the company and an understanding of the firm's culture and values. Explain how your past experience can improve your ability to perform well throughout the Internship.
