Overview
Working in various departments throughout the week completing tasks of a trainee solicitor.
Skills
I developed the skill of drafting legal documents, research, written communication and working in a team.
Business Insight
There were plenty of opportunities to talk to various people across the business and attend talks. It was evident that the firm is growing and developing in some areas while continuing to focus on areas where the firm is the leader in the market.
Culture
The culture was friendly and welcoming. Everyone was content at work and enjoyed their job, which for me spoke volumes about the firm's culture.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the scheme. It offered an opportunity to learn more about the firm, the culture, and experience the work that the firm completes across a number of different departments.
Yes
Really get to know and become familiar with the culture of the firm, the variety of departments and how they link together. Irwin Mitchell is well known for some areas of law but is also developing in other areas. Another thing to be familiar with is the business strategy and how a law firm makes a profit.
